"The NASLite v1.x floppy disks generated using the NASLite v1.x Floppy Disk Utility CD-ROM are freely distributable."

I'm guessing it's just anonymous sharing and most likely only vfat partitions.

My first thought is, for something like this, why not just grab the
NASLite CD and use that instead?

I can't think of a good reason why we should cram this into UBCD, which
is designed more to be a maintenance/diagnostic tool.

"Licensing and Distribution

The NASLite v1.x Floppy Disk Utility CD-ROM is not freely distributable. You can only make backup copies of the ISO or CD-ROM for your personal use. If you wish to use the CD-ROM simultaneously at multiple locations, multiple copies of the ISO or the CD-ROM must be purchased from Server Elements.

The cd-rom is $20 and it doesn't run off the cd-rom...in other words you boot into the cd-rom and use it to make bootable floppies. But those bootable floppies are freely distributable. Anyway to me I probably would never use it. Just thought of it as a quick recovery method over LAN where say you computer is hosed and just want to get data off of it. Anyway no biggie.

Don't think it will work as a data recovery tool. I read the docs and it
seems that it will reformat the HDDs when your configure the NAS. There
is also no mention that it will mount FAT/NTFS partitions.
