hello,
as a longtime user of the ubcd I have to share the experience I made with
the a hdd problem in two thinkpads. The hdds really did not make any good
noise, so i tried Drive Fitness Test. Failure -> so i sent the laptop in.
Then I got the repaired Laptop but the hdd was just loder then before.
I phoned with someone from the support because Drive Fitness Test didnt
gave me any failures on the repaired hdds and the nice guy told me to
test with "Virtual Pc-Check Version 5.67 IBM" and there the failures showed.
Although Im not unexperienced with systemtools i didnt know this program
but I think its because of there license that it is not on the cdrom ?
virtual pc-check is a product from eurosoft, but the thing is, that it can find
failures, where DFT says it is all ok.
