May i suggest refreshing the 3DBENCH code in the compilation?
I have found a newer(?) version (1.0C) at http://www.sysopt.com/3dbench.html. The site also has the "fixed" version, although that is only 1.0B. Still, i remember using it in the nineties

Ugh, the page went away in 9 days, but you can still see it through google cache (search for 3dbenfix). Actually, I cannot find the software anywhere on the web now (though I can upload it somewhere).
Concerning the 'fix', it was aimed at displaying the first number, which is truncated in the original. Eg. it shows 66 instead of 166.
Either way, this test is quite outdated, I thought it is there just for fun... I'm getting 166s ever since I got my 486DX4+ARK1000VL combo 10 years ago (still using a Pentium, though). Today's machines' high scores would make the extra digit mean little. This screenshot shows 500 though:
