Accessing a USB flash drive or memory card reader?

Can anyone tell me if UBCD can be used to access a file on a USB flash drive or USB memory card reader from a dos prompt?

I have a Bios update to install and it can only be done from a dos environment, i have already burned a copy of UBCD which i used to recover from a corrupt NTFS.sys on a raid array, so i'd like to use the same disk if possible.

I actually need to know this recently...and unfortunately didnt have time to look it up...and have always wanted to know because I have this issue often with updating...just feel safer doing it from DOS prompt aswell.

I did find this: http://www.bootdisk.com/usb.htm

Icecube any take on this? Or maybe how to include the driver in the current freedos that is included? I know it cannot be provided in UBCD as requires copyrighted drivers.

I think that all USB drivers are already in the freedos image, you only need to select the right driver.

But flashing a BIOS while using the FreeDos image of UBCD isn't a good idea in most cases. Most BIOS flashing tools don't like extended memory managers.

Check out this thread I just made, maybe there's a way to link the flash utility and/or files on the USB to GRUB: MultiBoot USB: Boot Multiple ISO images from USB
