V5 to memory stick

#1 Post by richk » Thu Oct 02, 2008 2:13 pm

Is there a process to copy version 5 to a memory stick? Has the problem that caused dos applications not work in V4 been fixed?

Thanks

To copy UBCD5 to the memory stick, use /ubcd/tools/ubcd2usb/ubcd2usb.cmd.

The freedos image is updated, so probably the problem with the dos applications is solved. If it doesn't solve your problem, be a little big more specific about the problem that you experience.

It still doesn't work. I tried the Hitachi Drive Fitness Test and it just hangs when starting from a memory stick. The problem is described many times in the regular, version 4 forum

ok, I got v5 on my 1gb sandisk. I own a new dell and when I choose the boot menu in the bios it has the usb drive with the cdrom? I choice removable,cd,then harddrive.

the usb drive light flickers like its going to work, then all it says is

"remove all media and press any key to restart" and halts.....

for some reason it won't boot?

any ideas
