Boots ok from CD on my Mac but ....

#1 Post by steffi » Wed Feb 18, 2009 5:10 pm

So when I use the USB script "fixubcd2.bat" to burn to USB key at work when I boot it on a Intel box there I end up with garbage in the menu.

Does this standout to anybody?

The file fixubcd2.bat doesn't esist on UBCD (for dos), so I don't have any idea.

Yes you're right. I used UBCDfix2.exe which includes that batch file.

Use the batch in /ubcd/tools/win32/ubcd2usb.cmd instead.

Can anybody tell me how that's done?

For instance I can boot from a CD or uses Windows XP in VMWare but how do I get setup to run that script since I cannot mount the ISO in XP and don't have a Linux virtual machine.

Download and install 7zip (winrar or winzip or another archiver will suffice to).
http://www.7-zip.org/

Right click on the ubcd iso file and select extract.
If you don't get this option, check the preferences in your archiver and enable the checkbox with the text ISO.

Extract the iso to a folder. Now you can navigate to this file.

Alternatively you can install daemon tools to mount the iso.
