I'm thinking it isn't working on hardware because both MBs have an on board JMicron IDE controller.

Since it's a machine-specific issue, I think the best workaround is to include the working older version of HDAT2 as a customization. What do you think?

I'm fine with that :)

Already had it added to ubcd\menus\syslinux\hdd

Code:
LABEL -
MENU LABEL HDAT2 V4.5.3
TEXT HELP
Pervious version of HDAT2 for use when 4.7.1 fails
ENDTEXT
LINUX /boot/syslinux/memdisk
INITRD /ubcd/images/HDAT2453.IMG

What seems strange though is that the Avira update will run regardless if it is up to date, but I can live with that.

I can't live with that! :D

Please download http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/misc/avira.sh to "c:\ubcd-extracted\ubcd\tools\linux\antivirus".

What happened was there was a one-liner debug code that I forgot to remove. Sorry!

All is right with the world for now, so when is UBCD 5.0.1 coming out?
