Broadcom drivers

#1 Post by knixter » Sat Dec 19, 2015 1:30 pm

Help, please.
I am trying to get opensuse working on my pc. I cannot get the wifi to work.
The really annoying part about that is it works right out of the box (so to speak) with your cd. I am currently using it right now.
Would you please tell me which version of Linux you are based on and what driver(s) you use?
My card is a bcm4312 pc-id 14e4:4329
Thanks in advance

It would help to post at the Opensuse site.

If you have a wired connection available, you could try updating the system that way and maybe you'll get the driver for the wifi.

Good luck...

Unless something has changed the past year or so, I believe Broadcom is (still) one of the vendors who restrict distribution of the firmware blob.

Start and go from here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/broadcom_wireless

Disclaimer: my only Broadcom-equipped laptop is ages old, so not a good test subject.
