First of all I would like to say hello to everyone....My fist post....About a week ago my computer stated to act funny.... I ran several virus scans with no luck even online virus scans.....I tried a system restore with no luck..... Finally I found out that I had one of those false antivius detection malware..I think it was called (Antivius xp pro 2009) Malwarebyte software found the bug. But for some reason I think the bug attached itself to the userinit.exe file on my system, that when I rebooted I could not log in to my computer....It booted to the system logon window and when I type in my user password....it tried to log on but instantly logged me off.. I just about tried everything booted from my XP cd to copy the file back on but said access denied.....
My question (I know about time) is could UBCD4WIN...help me restore my system....and if so how do I go about it.......

Thank for all replies in advance...........

Welcome to the forums!!!

Ouch, thats really really bad. First, I will recommend to EVERYONE else to get 2 FREE programs to prevent this from happening to them.
#1, Spywareblaster. http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
#2, Spybot: Search & Destroy. http://www.safer-networking.org/en/spybotsd/index.html
These block you from going to known bad sites so you wont be able to dl known malware. Make sure you update both and with spybot, immunize your system after you update it. Spybot is also a scanner to remove the malware, which i recommend people scanning their systems once a month...or if you are really paranoid, 2-3 times a month.

You are talking about UBCD4WIN, these forums relate to UBCD. UBCD4WIN would help you get into a windows environment that you can use to remove the malware pretty easy, but you need a windows xp cd to do it. I would try my help first and if it fails, then go with UBCD, use the malware/antivirus scanners (after updating them, then remaster the cd, and then burning it to cd) and see if that removes it, and if that doesn't work...go with UBCD4WIN. But, I will also say this, if my help fixes your problem, I would still make a UBCD4WIN cd so if this ever happens again, you can just boot from it and scan for malware/viruses without going through much trouble.

To fix your problem, Im not sure if you can, but turn on your computer and boot into safe mode by pressing f8 (keep pressing it works best) before the windows logo screen. If done properly you should see a list of options to choose from. The top should be something called "safe mode". Safe mode is a diagnostic and repair option for windows that only loads the bare requirements for the system to boot, therefore the screen size will be small (800x600) and all programs that normally load at startup, will not. Most programs will NOT even allow you to open them...so just a heads up.

If you can get into this mode, then you can use it to remove the malware. I would dl spybot search and destroy and put it on a flash drive and boot into this option and install it and run a scan and remove everything it finds. Then attempt to reboot and get into windows again. If you can get into windows immediately update spybot s&d and malwarebytes anti-malware and scan with both and remove everything they find. I also recommend: Ad-Aware 2009, http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php and A-Squared, http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/#download as I have found that not 1 scanner will find everything, I use all of those I have listed on my windows build.
