Motherboard tools

#1 Post by davidjameskovach » Wed Mar 10, 2010 11:17 am

I am a bench tech. I have UBCD 5.0. there are many great tools. I did not see any tools to test the Motherboard itself. I do not assume because it identifies the MB, make and model that the MB itself is good. I also would like to know about using the CPU tools. testing overheating etc. The one i like is the burn tool. How long should I let it run to verify the CPU is good? do you recommend a different tool. Thank you for your time and attention to this post. :D

If you are overclocking, I would suggest overnight (~8 hours)... which doesn't seem to be your case, so what I would do is run it for around 1-2 hours. If it hasnt failed by then, it should be fine.

The included cpu stress test tools should be sufice...Prime95 is my fave...but everyone has their own preferences.
