Testdisk Recovering Partition on raid hard drive

So I am trying to recover a deleted partition from my hard drives, I have two 500gb drives that i connected by a raid. I am trying to use testdisk to recover the deleted partition but, testdisk sees only the two hard drives separately. So my question is how can I go about recovering the partition from these two drives? The computer was running XP sp2.

I had to do this before to two HDD connected to a RAID card in RAID-1 configuration.
What I did was to disconnect one of the drives, perform recovery on the remaining drive, reconnect and let the mirroring do the rest.

^ That's exactly what I've done as well, worked perfectly for me. If you have a RAID 0 or 0+1 I'm not sure what would be best. Some recovery programs do support RAID arrays as well.
