ubcd won't boot on a not so new pc

#1 Post by the dude » Sat Jan 28, 2006 7:51 am

hello everybody,

i'm brand new here,
i have some problems: i have 2 pc's: one is an amd xp-mobile 2400 on an asus a7n8x deluxe : this one runs fine, and i can run the obcd.

the other one is an older: amd duron 1000mhz on an msi k7t266pro2
but here the problem begins. when i insert the obcd it will spin but it will turn to a black page and that is it.

i have replaced ram, cdrom, detached hard disk. Nothing helps, but when i put an xp cd-rom in the drive i can very easy install windows and run the pc. what could go wrong ?

thanx guys.

Quite strange, as even older computers can boot on this kind of CDs... did you try updating the BIOS ?
Hammerite Compendium of Precepts, Regimens and Rules of Conduct, Vol. 113 :
A stroke of thy chisel, once made, canst be undone, but a stroke thou dost not make from fear is a worse flaw.
Be not cautious - be correct.

hello i have just update the bios, and indeed it worked,
but then again, probably there is something wrong

i let lucifer running for a few hours, and i got 5 errors

when i let memtest and cpu burn in, i don't got errors. (well after running for a few hours)

what could be wrong ? the motherboard itself ?
how could i test it ?

thanx a lot
greetings
