I would add http://bootcd.narod.ru/index_e.htm that boots the CD from the floppy drive. Good alternative to smartboot manager, as you can just create the floppy and off you go, and you can integrate it with GRUB as Wengier's boot disk (china dos union) shows.

I would add some means to connect two UBCD computers via net, usb, serial and parallel cables, using FILELINK from OpenDOS, for example.

I would add eraserd to delete files and partitions just like DBAN deletes disks, in a smaller scale.

I would add some boot menu that let you boot from any visible partition, USB device or even a remote PXE-compatible serving OS and Apps. (Don't know how to do this yet)

Sorry if I mention any capability already in the CD.

I will add Bootable CD Loader to the list of useful links at the UBCD
website, since it doesn't really belong in the UBCD itself.

To connect two machines over serial cable, you can try NetCopy.

SmartBoot Manager will allow you to boot from any partition, though I
don't think it supports USB devices or remote PXE booting.

I will definitely check out FILELINK and eraserd.

Thanks!

The thing is, if an image of that floppy is available in the CD, you can create it in another machine and then use it to boot UBCD from it in the "problem" machine. It would be convenient for the user to have available in the CD itself.

Thanks for the tip ¿is this in any doc, or it should be made explicit somewhere?

No it doesn't, and PXE boots are nic - specific :(

I'd prefer to keep this as a customization option, unless a lot of
people ask for it. This will help keep UBCD within the size of a 200MB CDR.
