Can I remove the UBCD files/folders from my Hard Drive?

#1 Post by jcimarron » Sun May 06, 2007 4:30 pm

I created the bootable Ultimate Boot CD. Now can I remove the UBCD4Win.exe install file from my Downloaded Files folder, uninstall UBCD4Win from WinXP's Control Panel|Add/Remove and delete the C:\UBCD4Win folder from my Hard Drive?
Thanks.
Jim

Yes, if you burnt the ISO, of course.
Anyway these forums are nor for UBCD4Win...

Your confusing the UBCD (DOS) and UBCD4Win projects.. If you updated/built a DOS version UBCD and don't plan on updating again - sure..

If you downloaded and built a UBCD4Win CD you can also un-install but if you want to do updates in the future you may want to keep the project in place..

Either way, if your done updating the project you are using and don't plan on building again go ahead and delete/un-install...

Constance--Forgive me. In order to ask this question, I Googled "UBCD" where the first hit is http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/ and then I clicked on Forums http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/forums/ to reach "Support & Troubleshooting". I now see that I should have started at http://www.ubcd4win.com/ (3 Google hits down) and gone to http://www.ubcd4win.com/forum/
The Piney--I think you have answered my question. I had not realized that making a subsequent version of the UBCD would require access to the files I had already created. As you can see from my response to Constance, I also had not realized there was a DOS and a 4Win boot disk. (I obviously created the 4Win version about a month ago from http://www.ubcd4win.com/ but forgot that URL .)
In any event, do you mean I cannot make a new UBCD with a clean start from http://www.ubcd4win.com/ ?

No problem :)

And yes of course, even if you delete the files, you can make an iso again by downloading and using again the latest ubcd4win builder release, would it be the same version or updated, from the website ;)
