Hi everyone,
I'd be very glad if someone could answer this one:

I'm using a dual-boot system (ubuntu,XP) and am trying to get rid of Grub by using FDISK /mbr. I'd usually use winXP installation CD to load the recovery console and use FIXMBR, but I don't have the CD :?

that's why I'd like to download UBCD, but I'm not sure if it's OK to use freeFDISK to restore a winXP MBR. does it really matter what version of winXP I have when using this command? is a win2K mbr different then a winXP mbr?

You can fix the MBR directly from XP by using MBRfix (command line):
