#1 Post by hoohooslax » Tue Jun 17, 2008 8:57 am

I need console redirection automatically start up every time I use freedos in UBCD. so I need to put "ctty com1" in autoexec.bat in freedos. since freedos is zipped in fd32rdp.igz, how do i unzip it, edit autoexec.bat, and then zip it again? Thanks for reading.

I got it. I used slax 6 . Run "cp dosubcd.igz dosubcd.img.gz" then "gunzip dosubcd.img.gz" then I am able to mount the img file.

@ grayfox: hoohooslax method is when you use linux.

Here is the windows equivalent:
Download 7zip from http://www.7-zip.org/ and install it.
Rename dosubcd.igz to dosubcd.gz and extract fdubcd img.

Download Virtual floppy disk driver from http://chitchat.at.infoseek.co.jp/vmware/vfd.html and install it.

Load the disk image file fdubcd img with the Virtual floppy disk driver. Now you can edit any file on the disk.

After you have edited all the files that you want, gzip fdubcd img with 7zip and rename the compressed file to dosubcd.igz.

You have to install the "Virtual floppy disk driver" in your normal windows environment, not in a virtual machine. And you must have administrator rights to install it.
