My problem is that I cannot get the cd to boot at startup.
I burned the image at 8x using Ashampoo and have changed my bios settings to boot from my cd drive first. Yet when I start my computer it still boots into Vista from the hard drive.
Any ideas?
Problem reading the disc

Have you burned the iso as CD image or have you burned the iso as a file to the cd?
Normally you also can press F8 and select the cdrom drive to boot from the cdrom drive.

It contains a link to a page which explains how you have to burn an iso to a CD for a lot of programs.

The image is properly mounted and I've tried the cd on another machine and it booted no problem.
I set the boot settings in the bios to solely boot from the cd drive to see if it would finally take but I just received an error message to insert a bootable disc.
The drive in question is an Optiarc 7200s

Do you have access to a floppy drive? If so, try this:
