Commercial Use

#1 Post by dr. sarf » Fri Oct 10, 2008 4:15 am

Hi guys,

Not sure if this is the correct section but I was wondering if the licence of UBD allows for commercial distribution?

We are a well known performance PC retailer and the UBD would be a great support solution to distribute with our computers.

If someone could get back to me to discuss this would be possible, that'd be great.

Many thanks.

UBCD has many programs on it with different licences. Some of them you can only use for personal use, so you have to remove those apps if you want to use UBCD for commercial use.

See also a feature request for UBCD creator :

OK, thanks for that. The supplied link doesn't appear to give many details. Do the creators of UBD have a list of programs that can be used in a commercial environment?

You can find and post info about UBCD Creator at:
Ultimate Boot CD Forum Index -> UBCD V5 Discussion -> UBCD Creator: viewtopic.php?t=1429

Currently only the first release is out (beta1), which can only remaster the UBCD iso. If you have any feature request, post it there.

For UBCD v4.11 you can find a list at: http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/
For UBCD v5.00 you can find a list at: http://ultimatebootcd.com/index50.html

But I suggest that you wait until UBCD v.5.00 is out.
You can download the current beta to see how it looks at: viewtopic.php?t=1550

You can find the information about also in the config files (/menus/*.cfg in the ubcd411.iso or /ubcd/menus/*.cfg for ubcd500.iso), which give also the links to the files that you should delete).
