Getting Seagate drivers onto my Laptop

#1 Post by thecuist » Fri Oct 31, 2008 9:07 am

Hi all
First post here and I'm not a Computer Genius yet so bear with me. I had a totally corrupt windows xp installation so I used boot and nuke to wipe my hardrive. But, when trying to install xp I get the old xp error, no harddisk installed, I understand that this is a common problem, but having looked into slipstreaming SATA drivers into windows XP installation disk Im a bit befuddled. Is there a simple way of using UBCD to get these drivers onto my laptop so xp can recognize my SATA drive or do I need to make this special copy of windows using Nlite I believe, as I dont have a floppy drive.
Ive managed to download the Seagate drivers onto my desktop pc and I also have another SATA hardrive with windows XP on it, plus an external enclosure. Perhaps theres a way I could use this. I did try slotting the other hardrive into my laptop but she wont boot with it
Thanks
Peter
