XCOPY Help

#1 Post by tornado » Tue Mar 03, 2009 7:25 am

Hi,

I am trying to backup my files from HDD to USB
So I booted up into OPENDOS,

However it will only let me copy files from my HDD and not subfolders and files within these subfolders.

For example if I enter my USB drive and then try:
xcopy d:\photos\ /s
It will copy all the files inside it but not the subfolders, it is jus ignoring the /s switch.

Howevr if I do something like:
xcopy a:\ /s
I will copy all subfolders from there but the /s switch isn't working when trying to copy from the Hard Drive, any reason why?

Download Puppy Linux for easy copying of files and folders.
Download Ultimate Boot CD v5.0: http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/download.html
Use Parted Magic for handling all partitioning task: http://partedmagic.com/

Ive read two posts and both say use some other program NOT found on this "Ultimate" boot cd.
