I don't think I have ever heard of a windows xp install disk coming on 10 separate disks.
are they floppy disks or cd disks?
if you are at the same place you were before, why not take it back to the computer place, and for the 40 bucks let them do it?
next....... if you use AVG free antivirus then let it do its job, let it remove the virus problems on your pc. keep running it till it comes up clean. then download malwarebytes and after you update it, run it till it comes up clean. the next thing is AVG rootkit remover (free) run it to make sure your pc is clean.
one thing I have learned is, never delete files unless you know what they are and what connections they have to other software on the pc. leave file deletion to the folks that "know" how.
also never delete a program, always uninstall it.
my thought was that if you had an XP cd you could do a "repair" install.
this would help replace lost system files. the best would be to do a clean install.
I believe he was pertaining to the CDs that he have brought. What amazes me is that he owns 10 of those installation CDs!
