Latest Version of UBCD V5

#1 Post by fireshark » Sat Apr 10, 2010 3:54 am

Hi all,

Please excuse my ignorance as I'm new to UBCD, but which is the latest release of UBCD V5?

Also, how stable is V5 compare to say V4.1.1?

Many thanks

UBCD50RC1 is the last version (UBCD50RC2 should be ready soon).

It is stable (in terms of bugs). The only thing that you could call unstable is the place where the files where located (this could vary between the different beta releases), so it you did want to add your own programs, you couldn't always do it the same as you did with a previous release.

Thanks for the reply.

Call me stupid...but how will this affect the running of the boot CD? Will it still all run OK and find program files OK, or is it likely to carsh and/report errors at certain points and tasks?

Thanks again

Its actually quite stable, especially because its a release candidate instead of a beta. It will not affect usability.

In the likelihood that you happen to find a bug, if you report it, it can be fixed on the next release.

OK, that's great. Thanks for your advice.

One final question, is this of any use with Windows 7 also?

Depends on what you need, but yes "works" for windows 7, as it boots from the CD and has little to do with the operating system you are running.
