Updating Antivir Definitions

#1 Post by fleamour » Thu Jun 24, 2010 2:21 pm

I always keep a copy of UBCD just in case, but have not kept up to date since version 4.x. Do Antivir definitions need updating to stay current? If so how do I go about such? I've also seen talk of Clamav but the program does not seem to be mentioned in the list on main UBCD web page.

Having had a nose around I see that Antivir is updatable from within interface, no doubt with a hard/wired connection. Unfortunately it'll hang at mounting system disk on my laptop & on my tower the display is a nauseating load of wiggly lines even when trying different res.

Clamav is part of Parted Magic but although I see an option to update Clamav's definitions in the start menu I cannot see a Clamav launcher?

The scripts to update the virus databases can be found under:

Code: Select all

ubcd\tools\win32\antivirus
or

Code: Select all

ubcd\tools\linux\antivirus

So do I have to mount the image using special software then navigate to that directory?
