I agree with The Piney, best bet is to start using freeware apps for portablility until you you have access to a computer with the proper programs you are looking for.

Much smaller than if he tried to make MS Office and Adobe (any program of theirs) portable, as both take up gigs of space. Abiword is smaller than open office and quicker if not equally as fast.
