Connect to Network

Hi,
I'm new at trying to use this great tool but I'm stuck. I have a LAN setup with my broken computer and the good computer (no internet connection, just a hub). I have a static IP address setup on both and firewalls disabled but I'm still not able to connect the two computers together.
What am I missing? I'm trying to transfer files from the old to the new and using a USB stick is going to take forever!
