Hi
I tried to boot a Acer Travelmate 650 into the Fujitsu hard drive dianostic tool and it froze. Thinking that i chose optimal instead of defensive etc i rebooted but am now prompted with a enter password prompt which I cannot get by.
Can i suggest that this be noted as an issue to prevent future problems with this component of the UBCD.
edit: when showed password screen turned laptop off and now shows blank screen on startup ??? can anyone help
edit: ok the pasword screen is showing again after the removal of ram.....
any ideas for passwords to try
Thx guys

Fujitsu HD diagnostic NO GOOD with Travelmate 650
It seems like your HDD is locked with a password?
There is a tool called "ATA Password Tool" on UBCD that might help you.

thank you for the reply though unfortunately the password comes up before the computer can boot of a cd or anything for that matter
From what I have read from NET searches
apparantly i have to take the cmos battery out and if that doesnt work find the pins that i have to short to get the bios reset but i have no idea where those are on this model (Acer Travelmate 650)
