Trouble with Safe Boot

#1 Post by csingl2 » Thu May 24, 2007 8:50 am

I'm trying to get around this problem:

I originally wanted to remove some malware from my computer and after running several anti-virus/spyware/adware programs, I still haven't been able to get rid of a strange program called SuperMwindows. This malware pops up whenever I try to shut down my computer. I read somewhere that if I boot my system in Safe Mode, I might have a better chance at removing that malware. So, I went to Run, typed in msconfig, selected the Boot tab and checked Safe Boot. Then, I restarted the computer. It started booting into Safe Mode but then I'd get a black screen and nothing happens. Now, when I try to reboot, it automatically goes into Safe Mode and locks up again. How do I get around this and get my computer to go back into Normal Mode? I've also tried pressed F8, but all of the options listed there still don't work. I can't understand why my computer won't go completely into Safe Mode. FYI, I'm using Windows XP Home Edition.

Any help would be appreciated.
