Re: UBCD Live V0.2.0b available for download
Actually, the purpose of PDF viewing and other file viewing software would be beneficial for data recovery confirmation. We don't need distractions and bloatware for sure, but we could use tools that assist in partition management, data recovery, and repair operations. Sometimes that involves checki...

Re: Suggestions for replacement of Parted Magic
So when can we expect this as part of the main UBCD deployment?

Re: ubcd2usb in Windows 8.x
...that can be included into future editions of UBCD? UBCD, in its ubcd2usb scripts, can only make use of the tools already provided by the boot loader itself. It is, after all, just a script. At this point, there is not much that UBCD can do. Currently, the closest we could go would be to modify t...

Re: ubcd2usb in Windows 8.x
I do have UEFI for the Windows 8.1 machine I was attempting to create the UBCD USB on. While I understand that this is what causes this, is there anything to circumvent this issue that can be included into future editions of UBCD?

Re: ubcd2usb in Windows 8.x
The Windows-based "ubcd2usb" script included in UBCD uses "syslinux.exe", which is a 32-bit Windows executable to be executed in a PC-BIOS system. The script could be modified so to be used under a 64-bit Windows in a PC-BIOS system. Default installations of Windows 8 are 64-bit...

Re: Integrating Kaspersky Rescue Disk
I tried that...and it didn't work very well. There were issues after the initial loading screens that prevented it from being functional. That's why I created this method in the first place.StopSpazzing wrote:CD version uses isolinux, syslinux for USB. Should work if you use the isolinux.cfg file for the CD.

Re: Include RWEverything
This is a bad idea, due to not only what Victor said, but also to the fact that not all versions of RWEverything work flawlessly on all hardware. It is highly temperamental and should only be used with technical discretion.

Re: ubcd2usb in Windows 8.x
Your system is most probably using a UEFI firmware, not BIOS. Almost all tools included in UBCD need a BIOS firmware. If your UEFI has CSM (aka. BIOS legacy compatibility) mode, you could use it so to boot UBCD. In such case, to boot Windows 8+ again you would need to turn the setting back to UEFI ...

ubcd2usb in Windows 8.x
I've found that when trying to create bootable UBCD flash drives, the command only seems to run properly when used in Windows 8.x. This is with "Run as Administrator" applied. After everything is done though, the drive won't boot. This hasn't occurred in older versions of windows.

Re: Integrating Kaspersky Rescue Disk
I've tried using this method, but i'm not sure which syslinux.cfg to copy over and rename to kaspersky.cfg. I'm assuming there is one on the Kaspersky Rescue Disk but i cant find it. I'm using the CD version as it looks like it's the same as the USB one because you have to create the USB one with a...

Integrating Kaspersky Rescue Disk
No, this is no longer a request for help. I actually managed to figure it out manually. It was not a picnic and I'd put it off for ages since not getting a definitive answer before without needing to use third party tools. So how did I manage this? The answer ended up being embarrassingly easy. Pre-...

What's the correct way to set this up in the custom folder? It never seems to boot properly for me.
