Re: Parted magic doesn't work!
I don't understand why users assume this is a problem with UBCD, or originated in pmagic. If this were to be the case, many users would had complain already. Because there is no indication otherwise and the error implies that there are missing or mis-configured files on the media. It is in fact rel...

Re: Flashing AMI BIOS
It's been a while but the last time I did this, I copied the update program and firmware update to a USB drive or the on board hard drive and booted into freedos and ran it with no problems. If your system is BIOS it should work fine. If your system is UEFI all bets are off as I haven't worked on a...

Flashing AMI BIOS
The manufacturer site has a flash image with a DOS executable. I've looked at appliers for other OS's but they don't like the contents, and the naming convention doesn't match what's documented, so I really must use the EXE in this specific package with the ROM image. Is there an easy way to get a (...

(U)EFI Machine Booting
I'm doing some dry-runs and experimentation using a VM before applying to the real machine. VMWare Workstation 11, when set to UEFI Firmware, does not boot the CD. I'm guessing that the implementation doesn't have a fall-back to legacy CD booting. Is there a way to get UBCD, or a USB image, to boot ...

Re: Having issues adding ISOs to UBCD 5
An alternative method to memdisk, would be to expand each ISO image and use ISOLINUX/SYSLINUX directly. I won't get into the technical details. You might be interested in using auxiliary tools such as YUMI, SARDUCD, LILI, or some of their alternatives under Linux. I'm interested in exactly that. Re...

No 64-bit stress testing?!
Running Prime95 27-you-mean-28, I noticed it was only using 2½GB of RAM. I believe this indicates it's running in 32-bit mode. I want to stress test in x86-64, because [*] the integrated RAM controller needs to use all the DIMMs, [*] there are twice as many XMM registers [*] various modules within t...
