why not datalight romdos? it's free for non commercial use. it natively supports lfn and fat32. This would have been a fine candidate indeed, but unfortunately I ran into several incompatibilities when testing it on the set of batch-files that I use with the general FreeDOS-, OpenDOS- and MsDOS- bo...

The poster of the question refers to Bart's network boot disk, and since that one is included (in a revised way) his question is on target and there should be no need to raise it at the UBCD4WIN forums. Now to the question itself. No, Bart's network disk can not handle NTLMv2. This is very unfortuna...

Yep, this workaround will do. For the adventurous there is a 3.36 beta of FDMSRRC.IMG available on http://www.veder.com/ftp/nwdsk/beta on which this is fixed. You may inject this in your ISO (see tutorial/FAQ on UBCD site) and you will need to take care of the fact it is an IMG instead of an IGZ (in...

Please try fix for: No apps run, DOS prompt, empty UBCDDRV
When booting the general FreeDOS image FDUBCD.IMG it might (on some hardware) fail recognizing the CDROM it booted from, dropping you to the DOS prompt and showing an empty UBCDDRV like: BOOTDRV: A RAMDRV: Q UBCDDRV: On http://www.veder.com/ftp/nwdsk/beta you will find a beta 3.36 FDUBCD.IMG (next t...

Re: Where to check current version numbers?
I would also be happy to find some img'd programs, which are DOS programs at the same time, to be included in the DOSAPPS dir. Notably, Ranish Partition Manager (which has a DOS version) and mhdd32 are two examples which I use frequently, and find it convenient to launch them from there when I'm al...

Larry, I uploaded a boot-flop test-version ubcdvir on my beta-section. It is a SFX that extracts itself as a 1680KB bootflop. It is quite the same as the UBCD-version except that it is standalone (real floppy instead of image on CDROM) so the copy-from-UBCD-part is greyed out. But apart from that it...

For updating the current AVG you only need to add all (3 ?) '*.AVG' files from an up to date AVG-windows installation. I verified this working fine, using an auto-update script currently under development (see topic: viewtopic.php?t=103).

Larry, My scripts are currently being tested for (optional) inclusion with UBCD. It is included with the (upcoming) general-UBCD-boot-image used with all the dosapps and it is capable to update any of the 5 antivirus products on UBCD. It does this by first copying the AV-product to ramdrive and then...

About the errors with the msubcd.img: Allthough I could not reproduce them, msubcd did choke with me on accessing the CDROM when searching for the dos-app when LFN was activated. So I changed LFN (long file names) to be inactive by default instead of active. I just uploaded the corrected msubcd.img ...

xufux, Then is any regular dos-app from UBCD working at all or is it just that yours are not working?. Are you working with UBCD 3.3 using bcdw.csm 2.0a1 in boot\modules (just peek in bcdw.csm with a viewer to see) ? Try adding the full dos-path '\dosapps\yourapp\startup.bat'. Like: bcdw boot \image...

xufux, Get msubcd.img from nwdsk-beta and rename it to freedos.img and overwrite the one on your ISO with it. It contains a MsDOS 7.10 version of the general UBCD image. When you do not like all the optional modules on it, edit the image (with WinImage or so) and remove the modules from dirs \level0...

Reblu, it is booting fine on a whole variety of machines, except on those intel-915G-boards. And on those Intels also MsDOS chokes (on smartdrv). I think it has to do with the way the bios on those machines detects bootable USBs. It features a sort of adaptive USB-detection. Depending on the way tha...

I just uploaded a new version of UBCD2USB: http://www.veder.com/ftp/nwdsk/beta/ubcd2usb.zip Reblu, I applied all your remarks. Thanks. I added an option to switch the general freedos-image to some other DOS-image. In the ubcd2usb-package there is also DRUBCD.IMG which is an OpenDOS version of the ge...

Limerick, Well, create a new-dir 'C:\Ubcd2usb'. Extract the contents of 'ubcd2usb.zip' to dir 'C:\Ubcd2usb' with whatever you normally use to handle zip-archives. Now open a command-prompt (dos-box) and change to this dir with 'cd \ubcd2usb'. Assuming you have an UBCD-CDROM in drive 'E:' and an USB-...

Then go to that directory and run 'ubcd2usb <path-to-ubcd> <usb-drive>' I just included all stuff indicated by Reblu into this zip-file and cr...

Thanks reblu. Fine work! BTW, Syslinux current stable version is 3.09: http://syslinux.zytor.com/ I'll try to find some time to test it tomorrow on my work since I earlier got mixed results when using makebootfat. It appeared that a lot of my machines at work would not boot from syslinux-makebootfat...
