What are you trying to do? A bit more info would be helpful such as what is happening that you are trying to correct, drive model, OS, etc.
If you want to run the manufacturer's diagnosis ---> Drive Fitness Test for Hitachi can be found under HDD---> Diagnosis.

Re: GParted won't load
You can try downloading the newest version of GParted Live --> https://gparted.sourceforge.io/livecd.php
Other Linux Live CD/DVDs may work for you as well.
More info would help also - Brand/Model, MotherBoard, errors, etc.

1. At the bottom of the page you linked to you'll see a "HTTP" section, the links are on the left side next to "ISO". 2. The current release is 0.2.3b and the top of the page states --> "UBCD Live is a Debian Linux based LiveCD that was created as a candidate that will event...

Re: New member need help
UBCD is downloaded as an ISO, you just burn the image to CD and your set. As you mention requiring WinXP, I'll assume your speaking of UBCD4Win. A section is provided for UBCD4Win but the project has been discontinued for some time. For the most part, download the UBCD4Win 3.60 file and extract, cop...

Re: Kernal panic- not syncing- fatal exception in interrupt
I'm kinda lost with Kernel Panic errors. What is it that your trying to do? More information would be helpful such as the MB model, what tools you tried if you got to the menu, etc. The system your trying to boot may have devices that are not supported. Are you getting the error when booting to the ...

Re: Boot UBCD on laptop with UEFI and NO legacy boot option
Even with systems having "Legacy" support, booting UBCD is spotty at best and many of the tools included didn't work for me even if I did get it to boot to the menu. So, what is it your trying to do? You may find something useful here --> https://www.ultimatebootcd.com/forums/viewtopic.php...

Re: Windows 10 file recovery
You can try booting to PartedMagic and seeing if you can access the files and copy to a USB drive. (You may have to have the USB drive inserted while booting.) I would boot to a PE environment or Linux Live CD/DVD/USB and copy over the files that way, if I have access to them. The Windows 10 Forum m...

I don't recall ever seeing anything about it.
If you can boot to a repair CD or installation media you can try this---> https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-reset-a ... rd-2626297
Have you been able to access the HDD at all? Is it being listed in BIOS?

If you burned the Ophcrack ISO to CD you should be good unless you downloaded the version with no tables... If you create a bootable USB with Ophcrack you may have to move the tables folder but not if your using a CD/DVD. You can also download more tables but some are quite large and some are "...

Re: starting parted magic from UBCD seems to hang
Is it showing the HDD at all? It is an older laptop but PartedMagic still may have issues with drivers (and the included version of PartedMagic is definitely dated). You can try downloading a newer version of Parted Magic -- https://partedmagic.com/ but they charge for it now, although the fee is re...

Re: starting parted magic from UBCD seems to hang
When you boot to the CD/DVD or USB device if you get to the first menu and select Parted Magic you'll get another menu for boot options for Parted Magic. Laptops often have issues with the graphics/displays. If it boots to "fail safe" mode you may be good or you may be able to adjust the b...

Re: Why Gparted loads fail safe mode but not other?
As far as GParted and having to use "fail safe" mode --- You may be able to adjust the boot parameters to get your system to boot but often "fail safe" is just easier. This usually happens when a needed driver/module is not included in the system/Kernel or settings are not just r...

You can try putting the drive into an external enclosure. I've had some manufacturer's diagnostic tools work well enough over USB but some do not detect the drive or think they have "no media".

Re: Hard disk test with UEFI impossible ?
You can try adjusting the CSM setttings and sometimes you may have to adjust SATA/RAID settings as well. Although, if the controller drivers are not included in the drive testing tool or kernel you'll have issues with that as well. You can check out my post from the UBCD4Win section for some suggest...
