Re: UBCD V5.2 discussion
maybe you would also like to update xosl from version 1.1.5 to XOSL-OW116 https://sourceforge.net/projects/xosl-ow/files/xosl-ow116/BootMedia/BootFloppy/ XOSL-OW116 is an Open Watcom port of XOSL115 released by Geurt Vos in 2000. XOSL115 is developed with the Borland C++ 3.1 tool set, XOSL-OW116 is ...

Re: UBCD 5.1 kernel panic running Prime Test
If I had found this thread earlier, I would maybe not have seeked a solution on my own.
However I downloaded your version and was very surprised that your binary for Mersenne27 is about 10% in size than what I've downloaded here. Could you explain why?

Re: UBCD V5.2 discussion
Great news and downloading. But Patrick Verner has released some new releases since 09-12, currently 11-30 is yet available. edit: as of removing Alegr Memtest: I solved the problem with incompatibility with FD-UBCD by creating a separate image. http://omniboot.at/images/[base]/amemtest.img.gz (Due...

Re: UBCD V5.2 discussion
I got the seg-fault only for starting of Mersenne 27.7, not with the kernel itself. Also updating to stress 1.0.4 was no problem with the current kernel. I edited the ramdisk by first expanding the filesystem of the initrd to 48MB since Mersenne 27.7 is a lot larger and wouldn't fit into the current...

Re: UBCD V5.2 discussion
That's great news and I hope, it's not too tough a challenge! Btw, I tried myself to update to Mersenne 27.7 and stress 1.0.4. I was not successful with the current kernel, even after resolving two new dependencies (of Mersenne). Always got a seg fault. So I switched to the Slitaz-Kernel (2.4 MB) an...

Re: UBCD V5.2 discussion
About 100 different keyboards compared to about 20? Just have a look at /FREEDOS/PACKAGES/BASE/KEYBX.ZIP.

Re: UBCD V5.2 discussion
mkeyb works perfectly for all languages which also appear in the selction menu after FreeDOS has booted. When fdubcd.iso is booted the parameter kblang= with one of the abreviations used in that mentioned menu just preselects what could also be selected from that menu and the user starts with his ow...

Re: UBCD V5.2 discussion
It's up to others to decide, what is done in the UBCD, than me ;) But even if the selection isn't available in syslinux yet and so preselected at the DOS-prompt, even then it would be convenient for some nationalities, if there was a wider selection. To me it really doesn't matter if this feature is...

Re: UBCD V5.2 discussion
Obviously you are using an English keyboard. If you are not, say you live in France, Germany, Spain, Russia - the big rest of the world.... then each time you boot and you maybe only need to type a little path, some usual characters, you would need to adjust keyboard settings manually. You were not ...

Re: UBCD V5.2 discussion
The problem is that syslinux has no variable-management onboard. One would need to program a com32-extension like manjaro.c32 which I have only found at the authors place, so with the manjaro distro. I haven't yet tried how it would work in my environment and if the author is ok with it. This extens...

Re: UBCD V5.2 discussion
kblang is only affecting ubcd-based boot-elements. Any other distribution as pmagic has it's own boot-logic and OmniBoot is mainly a Syslinux-example how that can work together. So within OmniBoot, pmagic has totally different syslinux-configs than the original, as all the other modules. Packing the...

Re: Latest versions list of programs included in UBCD V5.1.1
Well, I would have a lot to answer where I definitely don't agree with your view. But I guess everybody will prefer if I stick to your last sentence ;) Anyway, I need point out a few things: Wherever I am able to come up with a solution myself I prefer to act instead to ask others to do it. I need t...

Re: Latest versions list of programs included in UBCD V5.1.1
Please don't call the integration of the UBCD into OmniBoot "stealing". I am giving a lot of attention to the UBCD on OmniBoot and didn't edit any true origin as for instance renaming anything like the fdubcd.iso etc. Of course I have heavily changed a lot of the whole boot process and dev...

Re: UBCD V5.2 discussion
Please have a look at OmniBoot in Ver 0.5, where you find the UBCD integrated. Infosite and Downloads On this Infosite you will see a content-table with a column Int(egration) where you will find "ubcd" for many elements. These are integrated in the core of ubcd, the fdubcd.iso as in the o...
