Mailing List
Do you ever use the official e-mail "mailing list" when you release a new version as I've been on this list for over a year and have never had a single e-mail telling me a new release was available.
I have to manually visit the site every now and then just to check.

Re: Mailing List
Geez, I haven't updated the mailing list for awhile now. Thought RSS (http://sourceforge.net/export/rss2_proj ... _id=106549) would be a more convenient method.
Anyway, I have added this to my checklist and will endeavor to maintain the mailing list for all future releases!

I've never used RSS, and prefer the simpler e-mail system as I can't miss it then!
Re: Mailing List
I've just come to the site the see if I've missed a new update as 5.2.9 was my latest version, and I now see that 5.3.0 was released almost 3 months ago!!
WHY WAS I NOT NOTIFIED VIA THE MAILING LIST???
A year ago, you said that you'd send notification of new releases (via e-mail), but you haven't.
I don't use RSS & you don't seem to have a Facebook page with updates.
Edit: I've just realised that I used the "Subscribe" option on the announcements part of the forum a year or more ago, yet I've not received a single e-mail (including the released notifications).

Re: Mailing List
Holy cow. My bad. I need to automate some of the stuff I do with each new release. I currently have 20+ items on the checklist, and sometimes I miss out stuff.
The subscribe function won't work, because I announce each new version in a new topic (so that follow-on discussion is specific that that version only), whereas you can only subscribe to a current topic under phpBB.
No, no Facebook. Not another release channel when I already have problems coping with the ones we have!
Anyway, I promise. Won't happen again. Sorry.

Re: Mailing List
No I didnt't, and have a copy of the sent mail in my Thunderbird client to prove!
However I just logged into SF to check and cannot find the mail in the archive.
I suspect something is amiss with the mailing list and needs to be debugged. Unfortunately, I am away from my personal PC at home until Thu, so it will have to wait until I get back home...

Re: Mailing List
The problem has been fixed.
I can see the mail in the archive (in fact there are 2, just I sent out another identical one for debugging), although I haven't received it in my own mailbox yet.
But I think it shouldn't be too long.
