Hardware Detection Tool Virus Warning

When I selected the Hardware Detection Tool program I get a warning when it boots that it has detected a Virus in my memory. I had previously wiped my disk with kill disk so there was no data on my hdd.

I could not find any info on this issue I am not sure what the cause is. Does anyone else have this problem when using this program?

Thanks

That's weird...Could you post your specs? Might help out.

Who/What is telling you about a virus? The program (HDT) itself? Or maybe is it the BIOS?

Is your BIOS ok?

Is there (in the BIOS) a setting to "protect" the BIOS from "viruses" (meaning, any program that wants to change/wipe BIOS data)?

Is the same message appearing while booting with other tools from UBCD?

Does anyone know about HDT trying to change something in the BIOS info?

Or maybe some virus was already there when booting HDT and you just discovered it now?

About the hard disk drive, is ALL of it wiped? Or just the data area (meaning, you could "erase" the data area but the boot record was not wiped and maybe a virus is hiding there)?

These questions are only to give you some options to investigate what could be happening, so you could answer to StopSpazzing request, so you could receive help.

Can you try the following?
  • Boot HDT: System ==> Hardware Detection Tool ==> select "CLI (Verbose)".
  • Run the following commands from the command line, and report which one triggers the virus warning:

    Code: Select all

    show dmi
    show memory
    show disk
    show pci
