UBCD won't start

#1 Post by HotWheelz » Fri Jan 04, 2008 12:38 am

I'm trying to start UBCD on my friend's pc, but it won't start. I read in the FAQ you have to change the BIOS, but how do I do that? He's running XP.

Depending on the system, at boot press "Delete", "Esc" or with Compaq and other it may be "F10" or other. When you get into the BIOS go to boot order and make sure the CD is set to boot first...

That should be it.. If it still doesn't boot make sure the CD ISO was burned as an image instead of as a file. Sometimes systems don't like Cable Select when setting boot order, if nothing else seems to work, you can try seeing if the CD drive select jumpers are set to Master, Slave or Cable Select - if Cable Select try setting to Master or Slave. It will depend on the location of the ribbon it is installed on, end for master or middle for slave.
