Unable to launch Ultimate Boot CD with boot disk

My bsic problem and BSOD didn't go away with Safe Mode or "Revert to earlier version." so I downloaded and created a boot disk using ImgBurn. I set the CD drive as the default and can get the "Welcome to the Ultimate Boot CD" page and menu but selecting "Launch The Ultimate Boot CD for Windows" brings up the Windows logo and another BSOD.
I also tried selecting "Windows Recovery Console" from the UBCD menu provided by the boot disk but am clueless as to what or how to change the problems with Windows.

Isn't there a way to use my Windows XP Reinstallation CD and just reinstall over the old, corrupt program? I suspect there is, by launching UBCS from the boot, but it doesn't work.

I attempted to build another CD today with Roxio but now can't find the ISO file (it was LATE last night). There is an executable file (no file extension, thanks to Microsoft) of about 239 MB and suspect that may be it. Just one file? My CD image has 10 files, incluing Autorun.

Any ideas?
