NTLDR is missing - Press ctrl+alt+del to resart

NTLDR is missing - Press ctrl+alt+del to resart

I tried installing Windows xp from CD but as soon as I press F12 to boot form CD rom i get error 'NTLDR is mssing '

Please help - what do i do ? what app do I need to run from UBCD ??

I dont think you are pressing f12 soon enough to boot from CD.

Or you installed Xp already and are having an error? If this is the cause as it sounds like...your hard drive needs to be checked for errors and you need to either do a repair build for windows XP, or reinstall if you have nothing to lose.

Boot from the CD and select recovery console. Then type chkdsk /f and let it run its course to check and repair your HD.
