NTFS4DOS in UBCD - not so useful?

NTFS4DOS is supposed to allow me to see, edit, save files in NFTS partitions... is it? However when I modify a .INF file according to changed drive name in order to restore a registry backup I cannot SAVE it (it keeps saying INVALID OPCODE AT XXXX XXXX XXXX ......) and by the way NTFS4DOS doesn't seem to support long filenames??

Any hint?
