Sorry but nothing proves that you do indeed own a copy of Partition Magic 8, so noone except the publisher should be allowed to give you a copy of it in any shape.

Hi Guys & Gals,

I have been reading all your post as how to make a Bootable Cd from 2 floppy's PM8 rescue disks.

I have spent about 2 weels trying to make one, and your instruction were not
that good, and I finely made one and it was a lot simpler than a lot of these instruction I read on this form.

Here is how to do it.

(1)Use winImage and at the top go to Disk, but you first floppy into the floppy drive and than click on to read disk near the bottom.

(2) Now go to Image at the top of WinImage and got chanege format to 2.88 MB.

(3) Use your windows Explorer and open the second floppy and drag all the file to from the 2nd floppy to into the first except for Autoexec.bat and Command com. than save them as IMA.

(4) open MagicIso and go into tools Load the boot image that saved as IMA Once you have done this Go to save as and save it as Standard ISO File and there it is.

You can use MagicISO to burn a CD or Nero.

Its that simple

Hello there ^^

Just wanted to say I used it successfully with Partition Magic 6 floppies, I guess it should be good with any version that uses 2 floppies.

(For personal convenience I just renamed the output image file, the reference to it in the custom.cfg file and the label, of course ^^ )

Hello,

just to annotate. I think I found a problem with the cutemouse

If you integrate "Norton" or "PowerQuest" Partition Magic v8.0
you should test your mouse.

The cutemouse version 1.9 (included in freeDOS 1.0) and 2.1b4
(integrated in dosubcd.igz 3.42) doesn't work for me with Norton
Partion Magic v8.0 and I think it wouldn't work with PowerQuest's
Partion Magic v8.0 too.

I tested successfully cutemouse version 1.9.1 alpha 1 (included in
dosubcd.igz v3.40 of UBCD 4.1.1) and cutemouse v 2.0 alpha 4
(both are available at http://cutemouse.sourceforge.net/) with
Partition Magic

Today I recognizied that it depends on my computer/architechure.
With my Desktop PC (Athlon 64) it is the behavior I described
above. But with my Notebook (IBM ThinkPad 42p MobilePentium)
I have no problems to use the ctm v2.1b4 with PartitionMagic.

But I replaced the ctm in all fd - images with ctm 2.0a4 because
it seems to be more compatible on diffrent platforms.

You better report a bug at the cutemouse forum, so they can solve it. Provide enough information.

I was about to suggest this. Eric Auer over at the FreeDOS Project is currently handling the development (I've spoken to him on several occasions and he's very good at releasing updates/patches for programs you're having trouble with).

I followed all the steps that are in the first guide of this thread but when I run the ubcd2iso.bat to create the image the command prompt simply disappears after pressing any key, it doesn't show any message or error and neither creates the file.
If someone has any idea, thanks

I think the link you posted isn't right. My problem isn't entering to the bios is making the ISO file with the ubcd2iso.bat.
thanks
