UBCD for XP (x86) from Win7-64 Platform

#1 Post by thebeave » Sun Sep 27, 2015 9:57 pm

Hi all, I've been trying to create a USB boot flashdrive on a Dell laptop running Win 7 64 bit for a HP (Compaq) XP-Pro SP3 (x86). Now the problem is that the 64bit computer won't process or extract the 32bit .iso files needed. All i get is that i should run the correct version of file. Would creating a MULTIBOOT USB Drive (UFD) fix this or do the Boots have to be of the same Platform 32 or 64 bit? All i have for the XP is a XpSP2 64 and a Win7 64bit emergency Bootdisk both of which allow me to boot to a Recovery Mode Command Prompt on the XP but both load the 64bit files. The XP's problem is that the HDD partition is out of wack and can't find the NTLDR or the Bootsect files are missing and wont do a straight boot. Anyone have a thought on the Multi Bootdisk or another solution to the XP boot issue?
