So what I want to do actually is run my daily applications off my USB drive or iPod.
And I know that PortableApps suite can solve the problem, but partly. Because applications like MS
Office and Adobe seems not portably available. So I want to know if there are some virtulization
software available or any other way that I can run daily applications off a USB drive or iPod, like MS office, Firefox, Photoshop, Camfrog etc. I know it may sound a little uncommon but I just need it. Can you help me?

There are some programs you can check out such as -> http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/drive-c ... h-version/ NOTE: This giveaway is past but you can check it out.

I link to the giveawayoftheday site because if you wait a bit you may see this or similar programs posted again. If your using for business purposes you would probably want to get the paid version.

You mention MS Office and Adobe, are you locked into these apps? I ask because PortableApps has OpenOffice and Gimp and many other programs and others can legally be made portable as well. I use an Access database for my work so I am locked into MS Office Pro and have been thinking about transitioning over to open source in the future but it's hard to change what your so familiar with. I see a big issue with programs like I posted in that the USB drive would have to be quite large to fig a regular drive on, unless you do a fresh install with just the apps that are needed.

I agree with The Piney, best bet is to start using freeware apps for portablility until you you have access to a computer with the proper programs you are looking for.

Much smaller than if he tried to make MS Office and Adobe (any program of theirs) portable, as both take up gigs of space. Abiword is smaller than open office and quicker if not equally as fast. I use OpenOffice.org's Writer on my main computer but Abiword on portable to keep the size down: http://portableapps.com/apps/office/abiword_portable

That reminds me...need to update my PortableApps...lol.

I use Abiword portable on my laptop to type reports and the latest release is much faster. I then open them in MS Word to spell check and then copy the report over to my Access database when I get to my work desktop. Hoping to move to Open Office when I do my next upgrade/update.

You won't have a problem updating soon as they are adding that feature to the new release.

Just noticed that...seems interesting and looking forward to it.
