NTFS 4 DOS
Why not use a NTFS 4 DOS boot disk? That would allow you to read and right in NTFS. May wana ad other tools to that image if you would like. I sugest adding it to UBCD.

I hope I receive an answer from them this time.

I am the original author of the non-profit project "Ultimate Boot CD" (UBCD), which can be found at http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/. This is a bootable CD that incorporates many free boot disks into one CD, and our users have found it very useful for system diagnosis and maintenance.
One of our users suggested recently to incorporate NTFS 4 DOS into the UBCD. Your license requires written permission for redistribution, so I am writing to ask if have your permission to include NTFS 4 DOS into the UBCD. Since the UBCD is quite popular, I think its inclusion will also help your product reach more of your target end users.
I look forward to your reply. Thank you.

NTFS 4 DOS
Just an update on this topic. I did not receive a reply from them, so I guess
it's a no-go, unless someone else can persuade them to change their mind.
I have tried it out, and it works quite well. It is limited in use for copying
files to an external USB device, but you could use it to copy files to another
IDE HDD quite easily.
Also, if you are looking for a way to run CHKDSK independently on an NTFS
partition, this util does it too. You can use either CHKDSK.EXE (command-line),
or CHKDSKG.EXE (text GUI).

First, run setup to install NTFS 4 DOS.
Then create the boot disk using the installed program. You can either use a
formatted physical floppy disk, or use Virtual Floppy Driver to get the disk
image directly.
If you used a physical floppy disk, use WinImage or rawread to get the boot disk
image.
Launch it in your custom menu using: diskemu /custom/ntfs4dos.img
Note: memdisk won't work, so you need to use diskemu.

Did you try emailing sales at datapoltechnologies.com as well?
I haven't tried it yet, which boot disk it better for this, 98 or XP?

I'm very happy they've offered for this, which will make them a sale shortly.
If you base it off a Windows 98 Boot Disk, use memdisk, If you base it off a Windows XP Boot disk, use diskemu.
In either case, extract your boot disk image to a floppy, run the NTFS4DOS installer as it will handle all the heavy lifting for you, and then recreate a new floppy image.
It works very well, and will access many hard disks that 2K/XP CDs need drivers to see.
