I've got corrupt Vista OS with 0xc0000098 error
This laptop was donated to my nonprofit so I do not have original disks. I have tried F12, F11, F8, etc.. but the option to access the recovery never shows - or - anything I try never gets past the Boot Manager error screen. There's nothing filewise I have to save or recover as we just use this to work ob
I burned the UBCD disk and have it in the laptop.
Does the UBCD help lead me to the recovery partition and if so, which utility should I use?

You can try DSRFix, under HDD / Partition Management.

However, sometimes the recovery partition has simply been deleted by the previous owner, and AFAIK there's no way to bring it back.

Turns out that the previous owner did delete the partition with recovery but found the recovery disks.
Hoping to fix it up this coming week.
