Website is deceptive

#1 Post by philbert » Sun Mar 09, 2025 7:40 am

On https://www.ultimatebootcd.com/resources.html , I counted 6 obvious links saying "Download", and all of them are served by Google ad services.
It took me a long time to find the link to download the Ultimate Boot CD, hidden in a long menu, which is not where any normal download site puts the download link;
and the text on that page had a link to "ISO file" which was in fact a link to a page with some kind of PDF software.

Meanwhile there are 6 large, deceptive links on the home page trying to trick people into downloading some unnamed software.
I'm classifying this as a malware site. I know the Ultimate Boot CD is a real thing, but I can't recommend anyone go here, because they will probably download some other software instead, because the site is designed to trick people into doing that.
