Can UBCD be used to build a diag CD for multiple PC types?

#1 Post by JPForth » Mon Mar 02, 2009 10:40 am

Hello. I'm a PC Tech for a large company with different model PCs. I'm curious if it is possible to use UBCD to create a bootable DVD that contains the diagnostic CDs for Dell PCs, HP PCs, and IBM PC Doctor?

THanks

Yes, It is possible. If all the cds you are using can boot up by themselves or run from command line without the need for an OS environment, then yes. Otherwise, they need to run in a windows environment and your best bet would be to check out UBCD4Win.

Let me know if you need more help. :)

I was hoping for that answer! What would I need to do to accomplish this?

Icecube will help you with howto's of what to change and edit and where to add what, as hes been doing it for forever (i would help you if i knew more). But to help him out you need to list the contents of the cds you are using for example:

CD 1 contains:
/Boot/stuff.txt
/Boot/New folder/junk.txt
/root.txt
/bootme.iso

Etc...

He will let you know if the programs may conflict with each other or not aswell.
