Ultimate Boot CD

My computer crashed while I was setting up a router (which was weird) so I rebooted it. Windows did not like this. Windows marked my "D:" partition as now being RAW rather than FAT32. I rebooted into Linux and Linux can't tell that it is a FAT32 disk. I installed "Stellar Phoenix NTFS Data Recovery" and it saw the drive just fine. I want my drive back. What do I do to get my drive back?

Try Filesystem Tools - Partition Tools - TestDisk, which is a partition recovery software.

As usual, if you can, backup the original HDD first with an imaging tool, or clone the original HDD and work on the clone HDD only.

Also, it's usually not a good idea to install software to a drive you are attempting to recover data from. The best thing to do, if you can get access to the drive, is recover any wanted/needed files to another drive, flash drive, CD/DVD, external drive, etc. Then re-installed / restore the drive and copy the data back...

Well that TestDisk worked. I had the stellar thingie installed on my C: drive, I couldn't use the "D" for anything. I can't remember what I did but it wasn't complicated and didn't give any "real" warnings ...
