Hi new to ubcd hope this is the place to ask this question?

Burnt ubcd with burnatonce to cd rom and tried to run the disk in my working pc win xp. the bits I have looked at appear to work.

I am getting a message Fprot out of date (something like av out of date might not find all viruses please update virus data base )
I pressed enter and the it returns to the main menu.

I have not found a link that might explain how to update this file set and on top of this the free dos version of fprot appears to have been discontinued, (looking on there website) (I think I am looking for the dos version?)
is this correct ?

Thanks for your time Dave

You have two options:

1) Download the signature files directly and rebuild the UBCD ISO.

2) Type "ubcdvir" at the DOS command prompt, which will attempt to download the virus database directly from the network. This assumes your machine has a supported NIC and is connected to the Internet.

About the discontinuation of the DOS product, let's see how it goes. I will remove F-Prot from UBCD once the latest virusdefs no longer works with the DOS version.
