UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME ...STOP Message! PLEASE HELP ME

OH my goodness, I am so overwhelmed...I am getting the blue screen...umountable boot volume...I know that is not good! Is there any way this cd can help me, I bought this from ebay and turned it on and don't know what to do?? If so, if someone could be so kind as to tell me step by step what I need to do?? I am lost with all those options and not knowing exactly what they mean...I am a nursing student that desperately needs her computer back and I don't want to give my money to geeksquad when I could possibly do this...Thank you for everyone that looks at this and has an idea to help me....
