how is grub menu.lst - grub super disk
I am developing a disk called Grub Super Disk.
It's like a normal Grub Disk but with various menu.lst with its options.
Your grub has several grub files or is it a normal grub?
When I get it translated into English I'll get you know.

I got my version of GRUB from here:
http://mirror.aarnet.edu.au/debian/pool/main/g/grub/
Could you elaborate on how Grub Super Disk is better? I don't get the full picture yet.

With Grub Super Disk you do not need to remember grub commands any more. You do not need to type any command in there.Victor Chew wrote: Could you elaborate on how Grub Super Disk is better? I don't get the full picture yet.
With easy menues you can:
*Restore Grub at your hard disk MBR AUTOmatically
*Boot your hard disk grub menu.lst
(These are good options when reinstalling Windows and
Windows deleting the MBR)
*Activate partitions
*Boot any partition (Useful for various versions of windows)
*Boot any partition previous swap of bios drives (Useful for installation of multiple windows or dos)
Currently only 5 % of Grub Super Disk is translated into English (The restore and boot the menu.lst options).
And the best thing of Grub Super Disk is that before any screen it explains what you can do with it and what it does mean. If you're going to activate a partition you will get a definition of what activate means.
These are some reasons why Grub Super Disk is better.
I am working on support for changing colors, and keyboard keys.
And Grub Super Disk is multilingual.
As the other post I recommend you to take a look at some screenshots:
Images of Grub Super Disk
One more thing I've set up a forum for boot problems and Grub Super Disk and here is the last version of Grub Super Disk (only avaliable in Floppy so far).
In two or three days I'll build the cdrom version.

Super Grub Disk
Hi Victor,
Grub Super Disk is not longer called this way. Now it is called Super Grub Disk.
Super Grub Disk webpage
If you can put the Super Grub Disk iso is better than the floppy, because the floppy is quite outdated and the iso is multilingual and floppy it's only in English.
There has been many many changes since 0.89, color change, menu restructuration, Boot Windows option, Boot Linux manually, you can hide partitions you can find last features here.
You will find downlods at Super Grub Disk webpage.

No trick. I just use:
Doesn't that work for you?
Code: Select all
diskemu /images/sgd.iso
important fix
Please use the 0.9296 or upper version for ubcd. It fixes an important and annoying error.
Thank you.
About the diskemu utility, I didn't even know it existed... although I haven't tried it and I still ask myself if booting SGD with this method will change in anyway the bios drives assignation.

Super Grub Disk 0.9321
I've seen that you've published last version of UBCD with 0.9296 version of SGD (which is not the current last version of SGD). Well, it does not matter.
I am not going to be here telling you... the next time you want to do the UBCD check the last version of SGD.
Victor Chew if you want to stay tuned about SGD you can subscribe to Super Grub Disk project at freshmeat:
http://freshmeat.net/subscribe/57777/?u ... pergrub%2F
or subscribe to Super Grub mailing list (this one has more things that Super Grub releases so may be not interested on it) ( http://listas.ensanjose.net/listinfo/supergrub )

why it did not load?
What does mean it did not work?
Did it not boot at all or...
did it not "Restore GRUB on the MBR" as you expected?
Victor Chew. Is it perhaps a problem of memdisk?
To get pure normal GRUB command mode you just have to type letter "c" and grub command line is there.

The next version of SGD will have some patches from Debian that deal with problems related to non-standard motherboards or bios. We will check if it fixes your problem.kethd wrote:When I choose Super Grub Disk V0.9296 menu option on UBCD v3.4
The computer shows:
Loading stage2 _
with a flashing cursor that just hangs.
Tested on AMD Duron 1000MHz K7S5A mainboard.
