Hi
Is it possible to network a pc running Parted Magic to one running XP?
Parted Magic is from UBCD v5.
It is just that Parted Magic network management seems to have a few extra settings than those on XP.
Can I copy the entire contents of the host PC to an external hard drive connected to the XP machine? If so, how?
Any help appreciated

If you can setup an FTP server on the Windows XP PC, this is possible.
A good and free FTP server can be found at: http://filezilla-project.org/
Once you have setup your FTP server, you can connect to it from Parted Magic with gFTP or FireFTP (addon in Firefox).

HFS is a good Http File Server...works great on networks and all you have to do is drag on drop th drive/folder/files you want to the windows and share them...has tons of options and if its networked you just need the IP of the windows computer and point the parted magic browser to the IP (ex. http://192.168.2.1) and you will have full access to everything you shared.
Its freeware, opensource, and requires no installation.
